Starting from 2018, based on the educational concepts of "learn more by doing", "environmental protection", "circular economy", and the essence of "regional development", Innodisk International Education Foundation cooperated with the locals in response to the needs of the disadvantaged, and the "Creating Value by Hands Camp" program was launched in local high school and vocational high schools. The “Creating Value by Hands, Reviving Home Appliances” project covered the three concepts of environmental protection, education, and helping others. It integrates the power of enterprises, NGOs, industry tutors, teachers, and students.
Over the years, the series of activities have been held for more than 10 high school and vocational high schools, with more than 500 students having learned by doing. During the activities, Innodisk successfully gave new life to nearly 1,000 various home appliances and computers; additionally, the activities also provided these refurbished electrical appliances to more than 10 schools, government departments and charity organization for public welfare with their new owners. During this period, 20 students from the universities of science and technology were also trained as technical tutors to jointly promote the project.
With these activities, Innodisk Education Foundation calls out to clients, neighboring enterprises, and organizations to collect various small home appliances or scrapped computers, collecting rich teaching materials for sustainable resources. The project also invited students from vocational high schools who volunteered to use their skills to give back to society and participate. Under the guidance of Innodisk's training and sharing session with experts, the students implemented their social participation; and under the leadership of industry tutors, they not only learned to repair second-hand home appliances, but also donated their work to local charity organizations, including Taiwan Fund for Children and Families Ruifang Center, the Tzu Chi Foundation in Yilan, and the elders living alone in Nangang District, etc., improving the quality of life in the community. Also, vocational high students who received training are very enthusiastic about becoming lecturers themselves after graduation, and returning to vocational high schools to lead the same type of activities, passing down the power of good.
Innodisk is very honored to accompany this group of dedicated, enthusiastic, and willing children to grow up. In the future, Innodisk will continue to take "skills cultivation" as a critical goal of corporate social participation, fully utilizing corporate expertise, planting the root of education, enabling the combination of education and industry, cultivating the next generation with the ability and willingness to contribute.
