Energy Management
Waste Management
The main types of industrial wastes produced by Innodisk are divided into three categories: general industrial wastes, hazardous industrial wastes, and recyclables. The general industrial waste and recyclables consist of typical garbage and are handled by the qualified waste removal companies entrusted by the site's management center. The hazardous industrial waste includes PCB waste containing metal components, as well as the dust caused by its production, and liquid waste that has a flashpoint lower than 60℃, which are separately entrusted to a qualified waste removal company.

Policies and Guidelines
- The factory completed the implementation of the ISO14001 management system.
- nternal education and training and promotion of environmental conservation concepts.
- Support and use renewable energy.
- Encourage the promotion of carbon-saving projects.
- Optimize equipment and use equipment with better energy efficiency.
- Install solar panels in the factory.
Greenhouse Gas Emission Management Policy
As part of the global village, Innodisk attaches great importance to energy, and resource usage, as well as the impact on the environment. To fulfill its corporate responsibility, Innodisk will maintain firm control and management of the current status of greenhouse gas emissions, conduct annual greenhouse gas inventory and pass ISO14064-1 certification. Based on the results of the inventory, we will further practice energy-saving and carbon-reduction plans, hoping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and contribute to the environment.
Sustainable Development Goals
- Install solar panels in the factory.
- Building greening, adding rainwater recycling facilities.
- Use energy-efficient equipment and deploy later models to replace the old ones.
- Waste and greenhouse gas emissions are effectively controlled and reduced by 5% year on year.
- Continuously research innovative technologies to develop low energy consumption and environmentally friendly products.
- Emissions need to be reduced by 50%. (base year: 2021)
- Achieve carbon neutrality.
- Continue to conduct environmental protection.
- Net zero emissions.
Air Pollution Management
Waste gases produced from Innodisk's manufacturing process do not contain significant air-polluting particles and are thus not restricted by the Environmental Protection Administration. However, as we are committed to environmental protection, Innodisk insists on entrusting qualified examination institutions in conducting pollutant particle tests on our emissions every year. The test results every year have always complyed with the restrictions set by the Environmental Protection Administration.

Water Resource Management
Innodisk does not use water in the manufacturing process. All our water usage comes from employees’ daily usage in the form of tap water. To save more water, Innodisk has installed automatic faucets in washrooms to save water, hand dryers are also installed to reduce the use of paper towels. As for the water readings, such data for the Xizhi plant are gathered from the buildings’ public water meters, since Innodisk does not install private meters, and the shown amount there is collected by distributing reasonable percentages to all tenants with the total amount recorded on the public meters.

Greenhouse Gas Emissions Management
Innodisk's production process and operations mainly consume energy from purchased electricity. In 2020, ISO14064-1 was introduced to disclose the amount of greenhouse gases emitted at the Xizhi and Yilan plants, which have been approved by third-parties. Innodisk begun purchasing T-REC (Taiwan Renewable Energy Certificate) in 2020. We are currently expecting to reduce emission by 50% in 2030 and planning to achieve net zero by 2050.
In 2020, due to the new disclosure of the carbon emissions of the main raw materials purchased by Innodisk, the total emissions of the headquarters increased, please refer to the following figure.
